Second grand annual military ball programme, 1 August 1904, which lists Lieut. Col. Surgeon Dr Walter Relf Pearless (1854-1924) served in the South African War and in World War 1 in the Medical Corps at Gallipoli, in England and on the Western Front. He was the oldest man, aged 61, serving at Gallipoli. He returned home in March 1918 and was appointed to the Travelling Special District Medical Board in New Zealand. |
